1. Mount Everest is actually not the tallest mountain in the world.

Mauna Kea, the highest point in Hawaii, is 13,795 feet above sea level. The majority of the volcano, however, is below sea level.

If Mauna Kea is measured from the base to the top. We know that the height of is Mount Everest is 8,848 meters (29029 Feet).

It is  Approx. 33,475 feet (10,203 meters) high, which is 4,446 feet (1355 meters) taller than Mount Everest.

It is a well-known fact that the distance between American Samoa and the Line Islands (which are part of Kiribati) is only 1,240 miles.

But the surprising fact is that the time difference between the two neighbors is 24 hours.

3. The driest place on Earth is located in the Antarctica region.

It is commonly accepted that the driest place on Earth is the Atacama Desert in Chile which has not rained for thousands of years.

McMurdo is a dry valley that is located in the Antarctica region. It has seen no rain for nearly two million years. The winds blow at speeds of 200 miles per hour.

4. Fresh-water represents only 3% of all water on Earth.

The oceans and seas contain 97% of the Earth's water, but it is salt water from the ocean, not potable. 

The remaining 3% of total fresh water is held in glaciers (70%) and Lake Baikal (20%).

5. The oldest temple in the world is around twelve thousand years old.

We know that Göbekli Tepe is the world's oldest recognised temple. It is located in southern Turkey. When Scientists did the analysis of the carvings on the pillars.

7. Continents will reunite once again in 250 million years.

Pangea, a supercontinent that existed 335 to 175 million years ago, was known to have split into two continents, Laurasia and Gondwana.

Later, both split apart to form all seven continents. On the basis of research and analysis, Scientists say that within 250-300 million years, continents will regroup again.

After reuniting into a single supercontinent it will be called Pangea Ultima.

8. A single-celled organism caused the first massive extinction.

Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, USA) suggest a theory with an explanation.

According to them bacteria named Methanosarcina suddenly bloomed in the oceans that caused the first massive extinction.

As a result of which almost 90% of all living creatures were wiped out from Earth.

It occurred about 252 million years ago, and it resulted in the only recorded mass extinction of insects.

It also gave Anchisaurus a unique opportunity to evolve. By the way, crocodiles evolved from Anchisaurus.

9. Most of our planet still rests in the dark.

As we know, most of the Earth's surface is occupied by the ocean. Ocean occupied approx. 71% of the surface of our blue planet.

Since the depth of the sun-exposed water does not exceed 655 feet, the remainder of the water is still dark.

As a result, most of our planet rests in the dark at all times of the day

10. The Earth's atmosphere has borders.

The Kármán line is also called the Earth's atmosphere border. It is an internationally accepted line.

As we know that the altitude of the Kármán line is 100 km above sea level. Since the Earth's atmosphere reaches a far higher altitude.

This line has been recognized by the World Federation air sports as the border between atmosphere and space.
